The TKLS bus duct is equipped with special aluminum "self-supporting" screens mounted on the side surfaces of the bus duct. These screens are designed for attaching the bus duct to metal structures, walls, floors, and ceilings, and also serve as grounding for the bus duct. Protective screens made of perforated aluminum sheets are installed in the grooves of the "self-supporting" screens at the top and bottom. It is recommended to install protective screens on bus ducts in areas accessible to touch. To protect the bus duct from precipitation, a climatic screen is installed on top instead of the protective screen.

Details
The TKLS bus ducts are a unique development based on the insulation of parallel aluminum or copper busbars with a rectangular cross-section in a protective compound. The insulating material of the special compound is obtained using a casting method with saturation of particles of inert materials with a fine-grained structure. This insulation provides excellent dielectric properties and high mechanical strength.
During on-site installation, all connections of bus duct and busbar sections are also filled with the compound, ensuring continuous insulation along the entire length of the run. Thanks to the special design of the section joints, possible construction tolerances are also compensated.
Depending on the series, aluminum profiles are used in the construction of bus ducts and busbars for grounding, mounting, and installation of aluminum screens. Cast TKLS bus ducts are intended for low- and medium-voltage systems.
Medium Voltage Systems — TKLS Series:
Alternating Current
Rated Voltage: up to 24 kV
Rated Current: up to 18,000 A
Direct Current
Rated Voltage: up to 33 kV
Rated Current: up to 18,000 A
The bus duct design includes technological holes for cooling. Aluminum profiles are used for mounting, grounding of bus duct sections, and installation of protective and/or climatic screens.
TKLS bus ducts can be manufactured without self-supporting and protective screens. In this case, the bus duct is installed on a substrate made of insulating compound. Installation without screens is carried out indoors or outdoors (using only a climatic screen) in areas inaccessible to touch. Warning inscriptions are applied to the bus duct housing: “Caution, high voltage! Do not touch!”
The TKLS bus duct consists of individual sections. Sections can be of standard configuration or of any geometric shape (upon special request).
Straight sections are manufactured up to a maximum length of 6 m.
The section used to connect the bus duct to equipment is called the terminal element.
Shaped sections are available in various configurations: L-shaped, Z-shaped, with bends from 90° to 170°, tees, special sections, etc.
To compensate for linear changes caused by temperature fluctuations, a special compensating element is installed every 25–30 m of straight duct run.
