The components and configuration of the busway with molded insulation are determined by the installation drawing of the route, developed for a specific facility. According to the specification, the molded busway includes sections of various configurations up to 10 meters long, joint sleeves, busbars, and compensators for connecting to generator terminals, transformers, and switchgear cabinets. The busway can also be equipped with current transformers, voltage transformers, disconnectors, surge arresters (OПН), and protective covers to safeguard connection points to adjacent electrical equipment.
A busway section consists of an aluminum or copper conductive busbar (1) of circular cross-section, covered with a layer of solid insulation (3) of varying thickness depending on the voltage level. Inside this layer are semiconductive layers (2) and a grounding layer (4). Busway insulation for voltages up to 1200 V does not include grounding or semiconductive layers. At the ends of the sections, contacts (5) are provided with holes for bolted connections between sections and to electrical equipment.
