RTK-ELECTRO plant shipped TPL cable bus for MMC Nornickel

In February 2025, the company «RTK-ELECTRO» produced 339 meters of phase-insulated TPL busbar with molded RIP insulation for GMK «Norilsk Nickel» – the leading mining and metallurgical company in Russia. The set of busbars for subsequent installation at the «Nadezhda» substation (RP-2) was shipped to the port of Arkhangelsk.

The «Nadezhda» substation is of great importance for the region, as it provides electricity to the Nadezhda Metallurgical Plant named after B.Yu. Kolesnikov – the flagship of non-ferrous metallurgy in our country and the city-forming enterprise of Norilsk. The manufactured TPL busbar (busbar material – aluminum) with a voltage of 10 kV will ensure efficient and safe power transmission at the substation. TPL is distinguished by durability and the ability to operate effectively in the harsh climatic conditions of the Far North. As part of the project, at the «Nadezhda» substation, the busbar will be connected to the transformer and bushings using busbar compensators.

All requirements specified by the customer when choosing the busbar were met:

  • Safety for personnel;
  • Compactness and ease of placement thanks to small bending radii;
  • High protection against dust, water, and mechanical impacts IP68;
  • Ability to install at temperatures down to -20°C;
  • Long service life – 40 years;
  • Resistance to sulfur gas and sulfuric acids.

Busbars produced by «RTK-ELECTRO» have been in operation for over 10 years at various energy facilities in the Far North, including the Norilsk industrial area, which further proves their high quality and reliability.

The «RTK-ELECTRO» plant values its business partnership with GMK «Norilsk Nickel» and is proud of the successful collaboration.
